onlyemma's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- my blanket entry
I think the last time was when I just got home for the summer holidays, so I have a lot of ground to cover in this entry. Let me condense the last few months down... I got a job packing chocolates at the Thorntons factory. Gorged myself on free chocolate, drank many cans of Citrus Spring from the canteen, invented 'Pimp my Lunchbox' alongside Kate and our Thorntons buddies Rob and Alison, co-wrote 'Looking back down a crowded belt'/ 'Thorntons Line 3' (to the Sweet Valley High theme song) and created hilarious names for fellow co-workers such as Rowdy, Moley, Fancy pants and the Tan Twins. Went to Paris with Tim and his family. Took some horrendous photos of the Eiffel Tower and other French things. Bought some jam. Went to New Wine (it's a camp) and looked after babies. Slept in a tent, bought portable straighteners, lived in flip-flops for a week. Fell over twice (once onto my straighteners). Became baby Jack's God-Mother, along with Kate. Discovered a passion for DeCoupage. Started back at uni. There we go, I think that's just about everything. I have to say, I didn't think my time at Thorntons would provide the most to talk about. Well, back to the present and right now I am trying to do my essays. I have one on Pornography, though it is not as interesting as it seems, and two more on ITV franchises and audience research paradigms. I'm in my new flat at the moment, which is rubbish. I've never seen carpets like it, it's like they seek out dust and bits of food and hair. Every time you move your foot about on a bit of carpet in the kitchen you create a hairball blended with peas and carrots. Plus the hall stinks like cabbage and trumps and when you open the door it smells like you're walking into someone's backside. Pfft. Though I must admit, it's not quite as bad as it sounds. My flatmates are nice, and sometimes if you open the kitchen window the smell does wear off. Until you close it again. 5:28 p.m. - 2005-11-17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
